Delhi openers Sehwag and Warner scored quick fire 77 each from 35 balls and 48 balls respectively to post a huge team total of 231 for 4 in 20 overs. Venugopal Rao contributed with a cameo of 28 from 15 balls which included 3 sixes and a 4. Virender Sehwag hit 8 fours and 4 sixes. David Warner hit 8 fours and 3 sixes.
This total was too much for Punjab batsmen eventhough they made a fight out of it with Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh displaying their attacking batting skills. Gilchrist scored 42 from 33 balls and Shaun Marsh scored a brilliant 95 from 46 balls. Since the the asking rate was simply too high for other batsmen, eventually Punjab succumbed at 202 for 5 from 20 overs.
Delhi Daredevils won the match by 29 runs. David Warner was the Man of the Match.
